Beecher Carlson Announces the Expansion of their Cyber Practice
Beecher Carlson Insurance Services, LLC (“Beecher Carlson”), a specialized large account insurance broker, announced today the expansion of its Cyber Practice with the appointment of Sean Donahue as Senior Vice President. An expert in Information Technology and Cyber Security as well as insurance underwriting, Donahue will specialize in assisting companies with identifying and differentiating their cyber security practices. Donahue will work out of the New York office and report to Christopher Keegan, Beecher Carlson’s Cyber Practice Leader.
Keegan stated, “We are pleased to have a team member who can speak with both insurance professionals and information security professionals about cyber risks in their own language. His ability to understand the security posture of a company and offer cyber risk mitigation options will result in broader coverage at competitive pricing for our clients.”
“Cyber risks are complex and rapidly changing. A deep understanding of cyber risk is critical for cyber insurance buyers to make accurate decisions on purchasing appropriate coverage and limits. With his extensive expertise, Sean will help our clients to reduce risks and protect their companies,” said John Kerns, Beecher Carlson’s Northeast Leader and Cyber Sales Leader. Jeff Lattmann, head of Beecher Carlson’s Executive Liability Practice elaborated saying, “Sean’s expertise will enable risk managers to strengthen their IT security practices. He provides a new skill set to a fast-growing team and an ever evolving risk area.”
Donahue joins Beecher Carlson from XL Catlin where he assessed large and unusual risks to further evaluate whether to expose capital of the company.
Donahue graduated from Chubb Institute with a degree in Network Security Administration.
