Beecher Carlson Expands National Energy Practice with Appointment of Industry Veteran Charles Pierpont

Beecher Carlson, the fastest-growing commercial insurance brokerage and risk management consultancy in the country, announced today the expansion of its National Energy practice with the appointment of Charles Pierpont as managing director. Pierpont brings 20 years experience to Beecher Carlson with deep expertise and specialization in the Power Generation industry. The expansion builds on Beecher Carlson's momentum in the Energy sector, allowing clients to benefit from deep industry specialization, expertise in analytics and risk modeling and unmatched client service. Pierpont will be based in Westchester County, New York.

Pierpont is recognized for his leadership in the development and placement of power generation accounts. He will partner with Robert Bothwell, executive managing director of Beecher Carlson's National Energy practice, to develop, implement and manage complex risk management programs for private-based equity clients and power generating facilities of all types. Bothwell, along with his team of Energy professionals, established Beecher Carlson's National Energy practice in January 2005. This team is distinguished by its innovative use of analytics and engineering to deliver unique solutions to its clients.

Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, Pierpont served as Area Executive President for Arthur J. Gallagher and Company where he was responsible for originating and managing client's insurance portfolios. He specialized in private equity and investor owned portfolios in asset intensive businesses. Pierpont has extensive experience in the development and management of complex property and liability insurance solutions tailored to the specific needs of Energy clients.

Prior to joining Gallagher, Pierpont served at Marsh & McLennan where he worked closely with global industrial companies of various sizes. He also worked at Johnson & Higgins and Alexander & Alexander.

Pierpont earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Lawrence University. He has also taken advance coursework in finance from New York University.
