Alan M. Koral is a shareholder at Vedder Price and a member of the firm’s Labor Practice Area of the New York office. He represents and counsels corporations with respect to litigation matters, administrative hearings and investigations, as well as general employment law.

Mr. Koral has written and lectured extensively on labor and employment law matters. He has written numerous articles on the legal impact of the Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection and other topics. He is the author of two books, Conducting the Lawful Employment Interview (4th Ed. 1992) and Employee Privacy Rights (1988), and edited Chapter7 (on religious discrimination) of the second edition of Schlei & Grossman’s Employment Discrimination Law (1983).

In 1985, Mr. Koral was appointed by Governor Mario Cuomo to the New York State Human Rights Advisory Council, and was later appointed by Governor Pataki to the New York Human Rights 50th Anniversary Advisory Committee and previously served for many years as a member of the New York State Human Rights Advisory Council under Governor Cuomo. He also serves on the Advisory Committee for labor and employment programs of the Practicing Law Institute and the Editorial Advisory Board of the Employee Relations Law Journal.

Mr. Koral is Chair, Committee on Continuing Legal Education of the New York State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section, and is a member of the Section’s Executive Committee. He is also a member of the EEO Committee of the American Bar Association. Mr. Koral is a Fellow of the American College of Labor and Employment. Mr. Koral was named a New York Super Lawyer for 2006. Only 5% of all Manhattan attorneys have been so designated. Mr. Koral was also listed in Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who. Most recently, the Nominating Committee of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the NYSBA nominated Mr. Koral to be the Chair Elect for the coming term.
