Jay Brown has achieved an exemplary record of jury verdicts and judgments in a variety of industries and across a broad spectrum of litigation. These include contract disputes, fraud, wrongful death, energy, insurance bad faith, insurance contract, deceptive trade practices, civil rights, product liability, toxic tort, catastrophic accidents, and other cases. Mr. Brown is co-chair of the firm's Insurance Litigation/Coverage section and presently serves on the firm's Executive Committee.

Representative Cases

  • Tried numerous breach of contract, deceptive trade practices, bad faith, fraud, and personal injury cases to verdict
    Obtained second reverse bad faith verdict in Texas. The plaintiff, suing for bad faith, received zero and had $200,000 judgment entered against her in favor of the insurer
  • Obtained more than 80 summary judgments in insurance coverage/bad faith lawsuits
  • Represents the world’s leading industrial and medical gas supplier in business, construction, and accident suits throughout Texas
  • Represents the largest private correctional company in a variety of cases across Texas
  • Defended insurers in many high-exposure insurance coverage/bad faith lawsuits
