Dan Donovan
Chief Executive Officer
Dan Donovan is the Chief Executive Officer for Beecher Carlson and a staple in the industry. Dan has over 30 years of large account broker and underwriting experience. His role is to develop strategic plans and set direction for Beecher Carlson.
Dan assumed the CEO duties at Beecher Carlson after 6 years with the company. During this time, Dan’s success includes multiple recognitions by Risk and Insurance magazine as a “Power Broker”, having worked on some of the company’s largest accounts.
Dan draws on his prior experiences to drive the forward direction of Beecher Carlson. Before joining Beecher Carlson, Dan served in a senior leadership role at HRH, which has since been acquired by Willis. At HRH, Dan was responsible for the $100 million operations of the former Hobbs Group. Prior to the HRH acquisition, Dan was the Operations Manager for the Southeast Region and the Global Property Manager for the Hobbs Group. Dan graduated with honors from Bentley College in Waltham, MA where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration.
Steve Denton
President
Steve is responsible for the operations of Beecher Carlson focusing on client services and growth initiatives. Steve is also involved in the development of Beecher Carlson’s unique service offerings and attracting talent to the firm.
Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, Steve spent 13 years with Aon Risk Services, where he held senior management positions in the Atlanta, Nashville and Seattle offices. While at Aon, Steve focused his efforts in the transportation, retail and healthcare industries. The majority of his background includes extensive experience with Fortune 500 risk management accounts. Steve’s areas of specialty include complex casualty and alternative risk financing.
Prior to his tenure at Aon, he worked for Marsh, Inc. in Atlanta as an account executive and liaison to the insurance market. Steve’s background also includes three years with Ford Motor Company in its corporate risk management department in Dearborn, Michigan.
Steve is a graduate of the University of Georgia where he earned a BBA in Risk Management and Insurance.
Bret Quigley
Vice Chairman
Bret is responsible for Beecher Carlson’s financial operations, business analysis, financial and operational planning and financial reporting. He is President of the Company’s agency operations and also oversees the Company’s technology group as well as its merger and acquisition efforts.
Bret has an extensive and diversified financial, operating and management background. Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, he was a Partner with Atlanta Equity Investors, a private equity firm based in Atlanta. Before that, he started and managed a consulting practice focused on financial services companies. Previously, he spent five years at Hobbs Group as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. At Hobbs Group, he worked closely with Tom Golub, Chairman of Beecher Carlson, to help triple the size of the firm before selling to HRH. Before joining Hobbs Group, Bret spent ten years in investment banking. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant with Price Waterhouse.
Bret graduated number one in his class from both the MBA program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and the University of Virginia, where he earned his BS in Commerce. He is a CPA and served as an independent Board member and Chairman of the Audit Committee for Swett & Crawford until its combination with Cooper Gay.
Mike Champion
Corporate Development

Mike serves as Executive Vice President and is responsible for Corporate Development. His role includes directing employee and producer training, leadership development, product development and selective strategic growth initiatives within Beecher Carlson.
Before joining Beecher Carlson, Mike was the CEO of Strength Selling Inc. In addition to overseeing the overall growth of the company, Mike directed Sales Training, Leadership Development and Revenue Growth Consulting for a variety of large accounts on a global basis. Prior to his position at Strength Selling, he held a variety of roles in sales, training and leadership positions for Johnson and Johnson and Boston Scientific.
Mike is a graduate of Gonzaga University with a BBAD in Finance and a minor in Economics. As a collegiate athlete, Mike graduated with the honor of being named Scholar Athlete of the Year his senior year.
Adam Meyerowitz
General Counsel
Adam is responsible for the Company’s legal and regulatory affairs. He also oversees the human resources function and helps lead merger and acquisition efforts.
Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, Adam was General Counsel of a number of companies, both publicly traded and privately held, including SynQuest and Talus Solutions. Adam began his career with King & Spalding advising clients on general corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, and technology transactions.
Adam earned his Juris Doctor at the Emory University School of Law, and his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan.
Lesley Dresch
Human Resources
Lesley is the Human Resources Director for Beecher Carlson. In this role Lesley is responsible for day to day HR operations and also serves as an HR Business Partner to the Beecher Carlson leadership team.
Prior to joining Beecher Carlson Lesley served as Vice President of Human Resources for Lynk Systems Inc., later RBS Lynk, and Practiceworks, both headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Lesley began her career in Sothern California with Reynolds and Reynolds and brings 20 years of HR expertise working for growing public and private companies.
Lesley graduated from California State University, Chico with a degree in Organizational Communications. She also holds designations as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
Scott Tofil
Vice President and Controller
Scott Tofil serves as Beecher Carlson’s Vice President and Controller. He oversees all day-to-day accounting operations and has over seven years of insurance industry experience. His responsibilities include financial operations and financial reporting.
Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, Scott served as a CPA for a private industry. He has 20 years involved in financial operations, financial reporting, accounting systems and mergers and acquisitions.
Scott is a Georgia Tech graduate with a degree in accounting.
Taylor Duderstadt
Information Technology
Taylor serves as Vice President of Information Technology and is responsible for Beecher Carlson’s overall technology strategy and direction including operations and software development.
Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, he served in several management roles in the Biotechnology industry. Taylor has more then 20 years experience in Information Technology with specialization in M&A activities, infrastructure implementation, software development and large-scale application integrations.

B. Scott Davis
Casualty and Hospitality
Scott serves as Executive Managing Director for Beecher Carlson where he leads the Risk Management practice. The Risk Management practice is focused on several industry sectors that include Hospitality, Gaming, Retail, Construction/Real Estate, Business Services, and targeted segments of Manufacturing. He is recognized for his leadership in the development and placement of innovative solutions for large accounts with over 20 years experience in the insurance industry.
Prior to Beecher Carlson, Scott served as Senior Vice President for Willis TN where he led one of the Company’s most successful teams in the Southeast. Scott’s experience also includes serving as President & CEO of Lockton-TN prior to selling that entity to Willis in 1997.
Scott is a graduate of Indiana State University with a B.S. Degree in Safety Management and Environmental Safety.
Cliff Simpson
Property
Simpson serves as Senior Managing Director of Beecher Carlson’s National Property Practice. In this role, Simpson leads the Practice nationally and is responsible for the design, development and implementation of risk management programs for complex property exposures.
Simpson has 18 years experience in the insurance industry. He has been nominated for Risk and Insurance Magazine’s Power Broker multiple times and has been named to the Top 40 Under 40. He is known as an industry leader and is often quoted in various industry publications.
Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, Simpson served as Executive Vice President and National Practice Leader for Willis HRH’s North American Property Practice. Prior to that, Simpson served as Executive Vice President of HRH’s National Property Practice, a position he held since July 2004. He has also served as Senior Vice President, Eastern Area Property Marketing Manager; Assistant Vice President, Property Marketing Associate Risk Analyst; Assistant Vice President and Risk Analyst for Hobbs Group. Simpson is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business where he earned his BBA in Risk Management and Insurance. He has also achieved his Associate in Risk Management (ARM). Simpson’s achievements include being recognized as a Top Performer at Hobbs Group every year, being named to HRH’s Rainmaker Top Performer list for four consecutive years and being named Power Broker by Risk & Insurance in 2011. He is recognized as a thought leader for his insight and perspective on property risk management and is often quoted in industry publications.
Eric Silverstein
Casualty
Eric serves as Marketing Director, Casualty for Beecher Carlson. His focus is the strategic design, marketing and implementation of Casualty risk financing programs. As Casualty marketing practice leader, he is also responsible for the management and expansion of Casualty market relationships.
Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, Eric served as Regional Managing Director for Aon’s marketing operations in the Southeast, working with a broad range of clients in the transportation, technology, mining, light and heavy manufacturing, chemical, municipal, retail and healthcare industries.
Eric’s experience also includes mergers and acquisitions work, with a specialty in due diligence, pro-forma budgeting and placement of insurance for Fortune 1,000 companies. Earlier in his career, Silverstein served as risk manager for a Fortune 500 pulp and paper company.
A graduate of the State University of New York, Eric holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Accounting. In addition, he has earned Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Environmental Risk Management (ERM) designations. Eric also serves on insurance company advisory panels.
Frank McKenna
Healthcare
Frank McKenna is an Executive Managing Director for Beecher Carlson. He serves as the National Healthcare Practice Leader and oversees all of the day to day operations of the practice. Frank has over 25 years of experience in managed care and has emerged as a recognized leader in the industry.
Prior to Beecher Carlson, Frank served as Aon’s National Healthcare Practice Leader. He took the position after selling his insurance business, McKenna & Associates, to Aon in 1999. Frank built McKenna & Associates into one of the largest healthcare insurance brokerages in the United States.
Frank’s expertise includes employee benefits programs, HMO reinsurance, managed care solvency programs, provider excess loss reinsurance and other specialty risk insurance products for insurers and providers. With numerous speaking engagements and articles to his credit, Frank is a recognized expert in the field of managed care risk protection and a respected leader in the healthcare insurance industry.
Greg Myers
Manufacturing
Greg Myers is an Executive Managing Director for Beecher Carlson and leads the National Manufacturing Practice. Greg is one of the original members of Beecher Carlson and is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Manufacturing team. Greg specializes in the evaluation, formation and
implementation of insurance and risk management solutions.
Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, Greg worked as a consultant with KPMG and Tillinghast.
Greg is a frequent speaker at local and international risk management and insurance conferences. He has authored articles for such publications as the John Liner Review, Risk Management, Captive Insurance Company Review, Leaders, Asia Insurance Review and National Underwriter. Greg is also a four- time recipient of Risk & Insurance’s Power Broker in the automotive sector.
Greg earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Math – Computer Science and an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Janet Warren
Claims Management & Consulting
Janet is responsible for the management and delivery of claims consulting services to ensure clients achieve their claims management objectives. Janet is a 25-year insurance industry veteran and is recognized for her deep expertise in all aspects of the claims discipline to drive consistency and quality. She is also known for her client-focused service approach and determined leadership manner to help clients prevent losses and mitigate their impact.
Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, Janet served as Vice President and Claims Manager for Willis of Georgia. She also served as Vice President and Claims Consulting Team Leader at Marsh in Atlanta, after originally starting with Johnson and Higgins. At Marsh and Wills, she managed teams who provided claims consulting and advocacy services to a broad range of clients including Fortune 100 companies. Janet started her career with Crawford & Company in Michigan.
Janet graduated cum laude from Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan, earning a BA in Business Administration and Management. She also holds an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.
Janet is skilled in multi-line claims advocacy, vendor oversight management and large loss resolution. Her consulting projects have included developing and implementing return-to-work, claims, injury and litigation management and prevention programs. Her claims closure projects have demonstrated substantial reduction in incurred loss costs for many clients.
Jason Flaxbeard
Captive Management & Consulting and Hospitality
Jason leads the Beecher Carlson hospitality practice and captive/alternative risk transfer operations throughout the US, Bermuda and Cayman Islands. Beecher Carlson is one of the world’s largest captive managers who share an innovative approach in today’s industry.
Jason has over 13 years of experience in the captive insurance industry and over 17 years in the accounting industry. He began his career as a financial auditor with a regional audit practice in England and moved to Bermuda in 1998 to begin his career in captive management. In Bermuda, Jason joined Mutual Risk Management to manage a portfolio of rent-a-captive clients. He then joined AIG as an international auditor, reviewing the operations of AIG’s international property and casualty offices. Returning to Bermuda, he joined Beecher Carlson as a client executive, managing a portfolio of large profile clients. He served his clients’ accounting and regulatory needs, as well as providing them with structural captive consulting.
Jason joined Arthur J Gallagher (Bermuda) in 2004 to run the Bermuda captive operation. He rejoined Beecher Carlson to manage the Hawaii office, managing 34 captives with premium volume in excess of $1.5B. In 2006, Jason was moved to Denver to run all of Beecher Carlson’s captive operations, consisting of over 100 captives, including many Fortune 100 companies. He has extensive experience with all lines of business.
Jason is a graduate of Bath University, England, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He is also an English Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter. Jason is a board member and frequent speaker at CICA and has spoken at VCIA, HCIC, RIMS and other trade conferences.
Joe Siech
Tribal Nations
In addition to executive leadership and client responsibilities, Joe Siech heads Tribal Nations’ Insurance Services (TNIS) and assists with the Real Estate Practice.
Based in Atlanta, Joe leverages his 20 plus years of property underwriting and brokerage experience to understand the nuances associated between the various ownerships structures. With this understanding he directs the team in the design and development of traditional and innovative risk management and insurance solutions for all types of Real Estate clients including owners, developers and property managers.
TNIS provides client support for critical Tribal insurance and risk management matters that include Tribal judiciary advisory on state compacts, tribal ordinances, external contracts and insurance claims advocacy, with a specialized focus on claims where invocation of sovereign immunity becomes topical.
Joe started his career as an underwriter for Arkwright Mutual before moving into client production, where he developed and serviced a large book of risk management clients for Hobbs Group, which became HRH in 2004. Joe graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in finance and marketing.
Kevin Grady
ZOOM
Kevin Grady is Managing Director responsible for the management and delivery of Beecher Carlson’s ZOOM® business process. Kevin leads the development of strategy as well as daily operations around the ZOOM® process.
Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, Grady served as Vice President, Claims for Aon Risk Services. He focused on the development and implementation of data-driven, cost containment strategies proven to improve year-over-year performance and reduce the total cost of risk. Prior to Aon, Kevin served as National Account Executive and Claims Manager for Alexsis Risk Management Company where he managed operations for all Tennessee locations while providing National account management services.
Recognized for disaggregating the data into its component parts, Kevin’s strategies eliminate the guesswork and focus on the “critical few” opportunities to improve margins, reduce balance sheet accruals and provide appropriate care for employees and customers.
ZOOM® is Beecher Carlson’s patent pending business process that allows us to focus on weekly, monthly and quarterly strategies to reduce loss costs.
Michael Stern
Real Estate
Michael has been in the insurance brokerage industry for the past 11 years and is Beecher Carlson’s National Real Estate Practice Leader. He has been named to Business Insurance’s 40-under-40 Power Broker and is currently a Senior Vice President. His daily responsibilities include leading Real Estate sales activity, thought leadership and client management.
Prior to Michael’s sales responsibilities with Beecher Carlson he led the financial arm of Beecher Carlson’s corporate office. His responsibilities included the financial aspects of daily operations, acquisitions and capital structure/equity partners for Beecher Carlson.
Prior to his work at Beecher Carlson, Michael was the Vice President of Finance for Hobbs Group. His responsibilities included M&A, budgets, incentive plans and daily operations until Hobbs Group was purchased by HRH in 2002. Prior to Hobbs Group Michael worked in the Corporate Finance department of a regional investment bank. He was involved in various transactions related to capital structure, M&A, public offerings and debt structuring. He has been licensed with his series 7 and 63.
Michael earned his Bachelor of Science degrees in both Accounting and Finance from St. Louis University. He also received his MBA from Emory University with an emphasis on Finance.
Noreen Graham
Casualty
Noreen Graham is a director of Casualty at Beecher Carlson. Her areas of expertise include hospitality, retail and food service, with a particular focus on national accounts. She oversees a large book of business and is responsible for the western region service teams. She has also assumed increasingly more management and leadership responsibilities throughout her tenure at Beecher Carlson. She is part of Beecher Carlson’s leadership team and has been an integral part of incredible growth that the brokerage has achieved over the last four years.
She started her insurance career as an underwriting assistant at an excess and surplus lines insurance company before moving into large account brokerage. She started at Beecher Carlson the first time in 1996, and moved from an account manager to a Senior Vice President, handling some of Beecher Carlson’s largest accounts within five years. She then moved to Arthur J. Gallagher, where she helped establish the Risk Management practice in their Glendale, CA office. She produced and serviced a large book of national account business before returning to Beecher Carlson in January of 2005. Noreen has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Nova University.
Robert J. Bothwell
Energy
Rob Bothwell serves as Executive Managing Director and leads Beecher Carlson’s National Energy Practice. Based in Boston, Rob leverages his 20 years of industry experience and specialized expertise working with independent power developers, utilities and oil and gas companies to develop comprehensive insurance and risk management programs.
Working with both domestic and international insurance markets, Rob has successfully implemented insurance programs for IPP projects in several South American and Pacific Rim Countries, as well as multiple US projects. He has guided the risk management and insurance needs for several merchant plants in the United States and has advised several insurance companies regarding the deregulation process.
Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, Rob led the energy practice at William Gallagher Associates. In 1997, he participated in the management buyout of WGA and became one of the Principal Partners. Rob has also served as the Northeast Marketing Manager for the Energy Department of Zurich Insurance and began his insurance career as a Boiler and Machinery underwriter at Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.
Rob is a graduate of Providence College where he earned his Bachelors degree in Political Science and minored in Public Administration.
Rob is known for developing tailored and innovative energy specific insurance solutions for many “outside the box” exposures, such as political risk, control-of-well, lack of resource, deductible buy-down, warranty and performance guarantee.
Robin Mehta
Bermuda
Robin is responsible for all of the Beecher Carlson operations in Bermuda. Robin has extensive experience working in the captive, brokerage and financial areas of the insurance/reinsurance industry.
Robin began working in the insurance industry when he joined Johnson and Higgins in Bermuda. He then joined Beecher Carlson when it was still part of the American Re/Munich Re group of companies. When Beecher Carlson spun off from Munich Re, Robin continued on as President of Inter-Ocean. Prior to rejoining Beecher Carlson in 2010, he served as CFO of Hiscox Insurance Company (Bermuda) Ltd.
Robin is a graduate of the University of Toronto, Canada, with a Bachelor of Commerce and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Steve Anderson
Executive Liability
Steve leads Beecher Carlson’s Executive Liability Practice with particular emphasis upon the prevention, mitigation and financing of Directors & Officers Liability and related governance risks. He has twenty (20) years of experience with Executive Liability Products.
Before joining Beecher Carlson, Steve worked at Marsh USA Inc for fifteen (15) years. He was the Chairman of their Financial & Professional Liability services practice with responsibility for a number of major client relationships.
Steven Anderson graduated magna cum laude from Hofstra University with a B.A. in Political Science and American Literature. He earned a J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law School in Washington, D.C. and is a member of the New York State Bar. Anderson is a frequent speaker on D&O, Fiduciary Liability, EPL and Claims issues at seminars for the ABA, RIMS, and other industry groups.
